What is LucidCam?

LucidCam is a small point-and-shoot true 3D VR camera capturing 180-degree videos and stills with depth. True 3D means that you have a feeling of depth, which gives you a sense of presence in the scene you are watching. 180-degrees means you capture like your eyes with peripheral vision, everything in front of the camera, the whole 180 by 180 degrees’ sphere. What ports are available on the LucidCam?

Micro SD card port, micro USB connection, and mini HDMI output.

Does the LucidCam use WiFi?

Yes, it uses WiFi for livestream, data transfer USB 2.0m, Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n 2.4 GHZ

Is the LucidCam waterproof?

Yes, splash proof (IP54 certified) with additional accessory options, including  waterproof cases for diving & mounts.

In what video format does the LucidCam output?

Video format H.264, Video recording rate up to 120 Mbps VBR, Audio format AAC

What is the resolution of pictures/videos captured?

180° x 180° Field of View, 4K Images jpg, 4K-30fps/eye Videos mp4

Does the LucidCam record audio?

Yes, there is built-in stereo audio with dual mics for stereoscopic caption

What is the memory capacity? SD card specs?

The LucidCam can take up to a 32GB microSD card. If a microSD card is input in the camera, content will be written to the card until full. Once the card is full you must remove it for content to be written to the LucidCam’s internal memory disk.

How will I know when the batteries are running low?

Storage LED will blink when storage capacity is at 20% or below.

Does the LuicdCam come with batteries? How does it charge?

Yes, the LucidCam comes with rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. It charges through a USB port (USB cable provided with order).

How long can the camera operate between recharges?

The camera can operate up to 1.5 hours for recording before it needs to be recharged. Full charging takes between 1.5 – 2 hours. You will be able to charge while shooting, it will just take longer to charge.

Tips for maintaining your LucidCam

Never place your camera with the lens facing down. Since the lenses protrude outwards, they are more vulnerable to being scratched or damaged.

How do you get live HDMI output?

There is an micro HDMI port on the bottom. The HDMI stream output is maxed at 1080p.

How do you update the firmware?

Firmware updates are handles automatically through the Lucid VR App. Simply download the app, connect your camera, and hit the flashing upgrade button when a new firmware version is available.

I hit the reset button on my LucidCam. What now?
